Q. Arrange the following in the order of increasing mass (atomic mass $ O=16,Cu=63, $ $ N=14 $ )
I. One atom of oxygen
II. One atom of nitrogen
III. $1 \times 10^{-10}$ mole of oxygen
IV. $1 \times 10^{-10}$ mole of copper

KEAMKEAM 2011Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

I. One atom of oxygen $ =16\times 1.66\times {{10}^{-24}}g $
II. One atom of nitrogen $ =14\times 1.66\times {{10}^{-24}}g $
III. $ 1\times {{10}^{-10}} $ mole of oxygen $ =32\times 1\times {{10}^{-10}}g $
IV. $ 1\times {{10}^{-10}} $ mole of copper
$ =63\times 1\times {{10}^{-10}}g $
Thus, the correct order of increasing mass
$ II < I < III < IV $
