Q.
An unopened soda has an aqueous concentration of $CO_{2}$ at $25^{\circ}C$ equal to 0.0408 molal. Thus, pressure of $CO_{2}$ gas in the can is $(K_{H} = 0.034 mol/kg$ bar)
Solutions
Solution:
Solubility $=K_{H\rho_{CO_2}}$
$\therefore \rho_{CO_2}=\frac{\text{Solubility}}{K_{H}}$
$=\frac{0.0408\,mol\,kg^{-1}}{0.034\,mol\,kg^{-1}\,bar^{-1}}$
$=1.411$ bar Note : If $K_{H}$ is in the unit of pressure, then, Concentration $\times K_{H}$ = pressure
If $K_{H}$ is in the unit of ${\text{(pressure)}}^{-1}$, then Concentration
$=K_{H}\times$ pressure
