Q. A projectile is thrown into space so as to have a maximum possible horizontal range of $400$ metres. Taking the point of projection as the origin, the co-ordinates of the point where the velocity of the projectile is minimum are

Motion in a Plane

Solution:

$R _{\max }=400\, m$
The velocity is minimum at the highest point
$\Rightarrow H \rightarrow \frac{R}{2}$
$R=4\, H$
$400=4 \times H$
$H=100\, m$
