Motion in a Straight Line

Solution:

Till $t = 2 \,s$, there is constant acceleration $a \,m/s^2$ and after that there is constant deceleration $- a\, m/s^2$ same magnitude. So velocity first increases from $0$ to maximum and finally becomes zero.
