Q. A hemispherical surface of radius $R$ is placed in a uniform electric field of intensity $E$ parallel to the axis of its circular plane. What will be the electric flux $\phi$ through the hemispherical surface

Solution:

$\phi_{e}=0$
$\phi_{c s}+\phi_{h s}=0$
$-\pi R^{2} E+\phi_{h s}=0 $
$\Rightarrow \phi_{h s}=\pi R^{2} E$
