Q. A cyclist moves in a circular track or radius $ 100\,m $ . If the coefficient of friction $ 0.2 $ . Then the maximum speed with which the cyclist can take a turn without leaving inwards, is

Solution:

Given $\mu =0.2,\, g=9.8\, m / s ^{2}$
$r =100\, m$
Maximum velocity with which the cyclist can take a circular path of radius $r$ is $v=\sqrt{\mu r g}$
So, $v=\sqrt{0.2 \times 100 \times 9.8}$
$=\sqrt{196}=14\, m / s$
