Q. A capacitor connected to a $10\, V$ battery collects a charge of $40\, \mu C$ with air as dielectric and $100\, \mu C$ with a given oil as dielectric. The dielectric constant of the oil is

Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance

Solution:

$q=C V$, As $V$ is constant, therefore $q \propto C$.
Here, $C$ becomes $\frac{100}{40}=2.5$ times
$\therefore K=2.5$
