Q. A bulb and a capacitor are in series with an $A C$ source. On increasing frequency, how will glow of the bulb change?

Alternating Current

Solution:

When frequency $v$ is increased, the capacitive reactance, $X_{C}=\frac{1}{2 \pi v C}$, decreases and hence the current through the bulb increases. This will increase the brightness of the bulb.
