Net resistance is $R=\frac{2 \times 2 / 3}{2 + 2 / 3}=0.5\Omega$
The energy given out per minute is
$E=\frac{V^{2}}{R}t=\frac{3^{2}}{0 . 5}\times 60=1080J$
