Q. A $1.00 \times 10^{-20} \,kg$ particle is vibrating with simple harmonic motion with a period of $1.00 \times 10^{-5} s$ and a maximum speed of $1.00 \times 10^{3} m / s$. The maximum displacement of the particle is

Oscillations

Solution:

$v_{\max }=1 \times 10^{3} =a \times \frac{2 \pi}{T} $
$ \Rightarrow a =\frac{v_{\max } \times T}{2 \pi} $
$ a =\frac{1 \times 10^{3} \times 1 \times 10^{-5}}{2 \pi}=1.59\, mm $
