TS EAMCET 2020

Solution:

$4.4\, g$ of a gas at $\operatorname{STP}\left(0^{\circ} C \right)$ occupies a volume of $2.73 \,L$
At STP, $1$ mole of any gas occupies a volume of $24.4 \,L$.
$4.4 g$ of a gas at STP occupies a volume of $2.73 \,L$.
Hence, the number of moles of gas
$=\frac{22.4}{2.73}=0.1\, mol$
$0.1$ mole of a gas $=4.4 \,g$
$1$ mole of a gas $=4.4 \times \frac{1}{0.1}=44 \,g$
Thus, the molecular weight of gas is $44 \,g / mol$.
It is the molecular weight of $CO _{2}$ gas.
