Let the equivalent weight of metal = E
Ew of metal nitrate = Ew of $M + Ew$ of $NO _{3}^{\ominus}= E +62$
Equivalent weight of metal carbonate = Equivalent weight of Metal + Equivalent weight of $CO _{3}^{2-}$
$= E +\frac{60}{2}= E +30$
$\frac{\text { Ew of metal nitrate }}{\text { Ew of metal carbonate }}=\frac{\text { Weight of metal nitrate }}{\text { Weight of metal carbonate }}$
$\frac{E+62}{E+30}=\frac{0.5}{0.43}$
