An ideal solution is one which possesses following characters
(i) obeys Raoult's law
(ii) ΔVmaxing =0
(iii) ΔHmaxing =0
(iv) Mole fraction = active mass,
Similar, liquid pairs (like benzene + toluene, n-hexane + n-heptane, C2H5Br+C2H5I mixture, C2H5Cl+C2H5Br mixture, C6H6+C6H5CH3 mixture etc.) form ideal solution.
So, C2H5I+C2H5OH mixture is not an ideal solution.
Because this does not obey the above rule and fact hence, form non-ideal solution.
