Solution:
There are different types of placentation found in plants. These are marginal, parietal, axile, free-central, superficial, laminar and basal. In marginal placentation, ovule develops at the margin on the placenta. In parietal placentation, ovules develop on the outgrowths of the wall. In axile placentation, the ovule is along the central axis of the ovary. Free central placentation is found in syncarpous gynoecium. In this, the ovary is unilocular and the ovules are borne on the axis in the centre of the ovary. Septum are absent in ovary. Placentation is axile in beginning but after sometime the walls of chamber are destroy and only ovulated central axis is left. For example, Primrose, Dianthus (Caryophyllaceae). In superficial placentation, the ovule are developed in the entire inner surface of carpel. In basal placentation, placenta is at the base of ovary.
