Solution:

When cells are broken up in the lab microsomes are formed. These are similar in activity to Endoplasmic reticulum. These structures are important and used for many experimental purposes. Being similar to ER these structures are used to perform Protein synthesis on a membrane and this helps to understand the actual process that occurs in the cell. Hence ER is always obtained in the form of microsomes and thus cannot be isolated completely. However other organelles can be isolated in the form.
