The external genitalia in females is known as the vulva. It consists of labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, mons pubis, the vestibule and vestibular glands. Labia majora is the pair of fleshy folds that extends from mons pubis to perineum. It is homologous to the male scrotum as both develop from same embryological tissue known as labioscrotal swellings.
