If the hydrocarbon C3H4 contains a triple bond it must be CH3C≡ CH. Since it being a terminal alkyne, it will react with ammoniacal AgNO3 solution, to give a white ppt. of silver propynide or with ammoniacal CuCl solution to give a red ppt. of copper propynide.
