Bryophyta, (termed by Brawn) are non-vascular plants grown in moist and shady places.
They are known as amphibians of plant kingdom because they require external water for fertilization.
Pteridophyta are vascular plants and differentiates into root, stem and leaves, e.g., ferns, club mosses.
Thallophyta is an old rarely used term to distinguish organisms that are not embryophytes.
