Q. Which of the following is true regarding projectile motion?

 2372  237 AIIMSAIIMS 1996Motion in a Plane Report Error

Solution:

Horizontal velocity of a projectile is not affected by gravity.
If a body is in the projectile motion, then its velocity can be resolved into horizontal and vertical components. And the body is subjected to the acceleration due to gravity (g), which is vertically downwards. Therefore horizontal component remains constant, while vertical component first decreases, becomes zero and then increases in the magnitude.
