The stele is the central region of the root or stem of vascular plants. It is a central vascular cylinder, with or without pith, and delimited the cortex by endodermis. It is of different types. It contains tissues derived from the procambium i.e. xylem and phloem. Along with vascular tissue, it also includes ground tissue (pith) and pericycle. Pericycle (if present) represents the outer boundary of the stele. Endodermis found outside the pericycle so, it is not considered in the stele, but considered in the extra stellar region.
