Atropa belladonna, common name deadly nightshade, is perennial plant. It is a poisonous herb and belong the to the family Solanaceae (tomatoes, potatoes).
The foliage and berries contain tropane alkaloids which are considered extremely toxic on ingestion. These toxins of the plant have been found to cause delirium and hallucinations. Pilocarpine is the antidote for the belladonna.
