Solution:
Direct gene transfer is a method using which an alien DNA can directly be introduced into the host cells. Using micro-injection, recombinant DNA is directly introduced into nucleus of a plant cells. Particle guns, also known as gene guns or biolistics, bombard the plant cells with high velocity micro particles of gold or tungsten, coated with DNA. Electroporation can also be used for direct gene transfer.
