Solution:
The natural method of pest and pathogen control involving use of viruses, bacteria and, other insects (which are their natural predators and pests) is called biocontrol or biological control. Baculoviruses (mostly of genus Nucleopolyhedrovirus NPV) are useful in controlling many insects and other arthropods. They are species specific narrow spectrum bioinsecticides. There is no side effect on plants, mammals, birds, fish and nontarget insects. Beneficial insects are conserved. Baculoviruses are, therefore, an important component of integrated pest management (IPM) programme and are dealing with ecological sensitive areas.
