Lymphoid organs can be primary or secondary. Primary organs are those that form and mature lymphocytes from progenitor cells. These are Bone marrow and thymus. Secondary organs are those where interaction takes place between the lymphocytes and thus immune responses are generated. These include lymph nodes, Peyer's patches, MALT (Mucosal associated lymphoid tissue) etc.
