r-DNA technology is a process that uses endonucleases for making transformants. In it, a specific part of DNA sequence is either removed or added. The endonucleases make cut at a specific sequence of the DNA called a recognition site. These sequences are palindromic in nature. Palindromic sequence have the same sequence of base pairs on both strands when read from both the direction −3’→5’or5’→3’.
The sequence ATGCAT will have the complementary palindromic base sequence as TACGAT.
