Solution:
IAA (auxin) is responsible for apical growth (apical dominance) in which presence of apical bud does not allow the nearby lateral buds to grow. If the apical bud is removed, the lateral buds sprout. In genetically dwarf plants the length of internodes is increased by gibberellin induction. Lang 1956 observed a rapid growth or bolting on the dwarf plants. Abscisic acid is a stress hormone which causes ageing and abscission of leaves. It also causes closure of stomata under condition of water stress in the guard cells.
