The kinetic energy of emitted photoelectrons is K=hν−ϕ0
where hν is the energy of incident radiation and ϕ0 is
work function of the metal.
As per question, 0.5eV=hv−ϕ0…(i) 0.8eV=1.2hv−ϕ0…(ii)
On solving eqns. (i) and (ii), we get ϕ0=1.0eV
