In axile placentation, margins of carples fold inward, fusing together in the centre of ovary to form a single central placenta. Ovary is divide into as many locule as there are carples. e.g. tomato and Hibicus as a central up growth from base of ovary, e.g., Stenaria. In basal placentation ovule are borne at the base of ovary which are few or reduced to one, e.g., Asteracea. Marginal placenta develops along the junction of two carples in a unilocular ovary. e.g., Pisum
