Q. What happens to the windpipe, or trachea, before it reaches the lungs?

1538  219 Breathing and Exchange of Gases Report Error

Solution:

About half of long trachea is inside the chest and the rest is in the neck. The lower end of the trachea divides into two bronchi (tubes) that carry air into the lungs. One bronchus goes to the left lung, the other to the right lung.
