Q.
Two points are located at a distance of 10m and 15m from the source of oscillation. The period of oscillation is 0.05s and the velocity of the wave is 300m/s. What is the phase difference between the oscillations of two points?
As, Wavelength = Velocity of wave × time period
i. e. λ=300×0.05
or λ=15m
According to the problem path difference between two points =15−10=5m ∴ Phase difference =λ2π× path difference Δϕ=λ2π×Δx =152π×5=32π
