In Tuisi (Ocimum), verticellaster type inflorescence is found. Verticellaster is a condensed dichasial cyme type of inflorescence. On the main axis, there are two opposite bracts at each node. In the axil of each bract arises a large flower on the sides of which are borne two smaller flowers. But all the three flowers are sessile or subsessile. After this stage, each dischasial cyme is changed into monochasial cyme of scorpoid type. Thus, in one cluster there are 7 flowers in all.
