The idea of origin of life was elaborated in the chemical theory by two· workers independently: a Russian biochemist A.I. Oparin in 1923 and an English biologist J.B.S. Haldane in 1928. It was summarized by Oparin in his book "The Origin· of Life" published as an English edition in 1938
