Q. The site of spermatogenesis in humans is
Solution:
The seminiferous tubules are highly-coiled tubules present in the testicular lobules, that act as the primary site of spermatogenesis. They consist of a germinal epithelium which is lined by two types of cells - the male germ cells (spermatogonia) and Sertoli cells. Sperm production is carried out in these tubules with the help of the Sertoli cells (which provide nutrition to the developing sperms) and androgens produced by the Leydig cells.
