Taxonomy is the branch of biology which deals with the collection, identification, nomenclature, description and classification of plants and animals. Classification is the arrangement of organisms or groups of organisms in distinct categories by a particular and well-established plan. A category is a rank or level in the hierarchical classification of organisms. Hence, in the taxonomic hierarchy, in classification, there are 7 levels of organisms, and they are Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species.
