A ribosome is a cell organelle whose main functions to synthesis proteins. Ribosomes are composed of proteins and nucleic acids. They are found either free in the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum to form a rough endoplasmic reticulum. This cell organelle is present in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
Ribosomes are composed of proteins and RNA. Ribosomes are divided into two sections, known as subunits. Prokaryotes have 70S ribosomes (made from the 30S and a 50S subunit). While the Eukaryotes have the 80S (made of the 40S and 60S subunit). 70S Ribosomes are smaller in comparison to 80S.
