Solution:

Liverworts are one of the divisions of bryophyte with flattened vegetation that develops sprawling throughout soil, rocks and on different plants, and they are separated into leafy and thalloid liverworts, such as Marchantia. The thallus is dorsiventral and adheres to the substrate tightly by unicellular rhizoids. s. They lack true roots, stem or leaves. The main plant body of the bryophyte is haploid. It produces gametes, hence is called a gametophyte. The sporophyte is not free-living but attached to the photosynthetic gametophyte and derives nourishment from it. Some cells of the sporophyte undergo reduction division (meiosis) to produce haploid spores. These spores germinate to produce gametophyte. They have reproductive features such as sporangia and gametangia, but no flower bodies or fruits.
