Solution:
Apomixis is the production of seeds without fertilization. It is a type of asexual reproduction which takes place when an organism produces its offsprings without exchanging any genetic details with another organism. There is no fusion taking place, so therefore only one parent gives rise to a new cell or organism resembling them in characteristics. Amphimixis involves fusion of gametes. This is a type of sexual reproduction which involves two different sexes which unite or fuse to form a new individual, who inherits the genes from both the parents.
