Q. The loosely arranged non-chlorophyllous parenchyma cells present in lenticels

415  167 NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022 Report Error

Solution:

The loosely arranged non-chlorophyllous parenchyma cells present in lenticels are called complementary cells. The tissue inside the lenticel is more loosely packed called filling tissue or complementary tissue. Each lenticel acts as a pathway having lens-shaped openings, through which gases can diffuse to the living cells of the bark.
