Parts of the fallopian tube:
a. Infundibulum - It is a funnel-shaped part and is closer to the ovary. Fimbriae: These are the finger-like projections at the edges of the infundibulum, which help in the collection of the ovum after ovulation.
b. Ampulla: The infundibulum leads to ampulla which is the wider and longest part of the oviduct. It is also the most common site for fertilization
c. Isthmus: It is the last part of the oviduct that joins the uterus. It possesses a narrow lumen.
