Solution:

Non- endospermic seeds or ex-albuminous are the seeds in which the endosperm is utilised completely. Due to the complete utilization of endosperm, two cotyledons are formed in these seeds which stores the nutrients for the development of embryo. Cotyledons are also called the embryonic leaves of the seed of the plants. The development of two cotyledons gives the embryo a heart shape which is why this stage is called the heart-shaped stage. The cotyledons formed in these seeds are thick and fleshy. Due to the complete utilization of endosperm, there is no endosperm remaining, that is why these seeds are called non-endospermic or ex-albuminous seeds.
