Solution:

The major factors on which enzyme activity depends are temperature and pH. Every enzyme has certain optimum temperature range at which it is active. At temperatures lower or higher the activity will not be seen. At lower temperatures, the enzyme remains totally inactive and at higher temperatures denaturation of proteins is seen and thus activity is hampered. Similar is the case with pH value. Every enzyme is active at a certain pH. At lower or higher pH this active is not seen. Hence when the graph of enzyme activity is plotted against temperature or pH a bell-shaped curve is obtained.
