Solution:

Mosquitoes ingest the Plasmodium while feeding on an infected human. The malarial parasite is in the haploid Gametocyte stage. There are two types of plasmodial gametocytes: Microgametocytes and Macrogametocytes. Once ingested, One Microgametocyte undergoes a process of exflagellation to form 8 flagellated haploid male gametes (microgametes). One Macrogametocyte undergoes differentiation to form one haploid female gamete (macrogamete). This takes place within the mosquito's gut (crop). These male flagellated male gametes fertilize the female gamete to form a diploid zygote within the mosquito's gut (crop). This diploid zygote develops a motile stage is called ookinete. This ookinete penetrates the gut lining and develops a protective covering around it within the gut wall. This is called the oocyst stage. The cell within the oocyst undergo repeated divisions to form thousands of sporozoites.
