Starch is the most abundant and common storage polysaccharide inplants. It is a polymer of Dglucopyranose units linked by α−1,4 glycosidic linkages. Starch consists of a mixture of amylose and amylopectin in 1:4 ratio. The chemical formula of starch is (C6H10O5)n.C12H22O11 is represented as sucrose (canesugar). It is widely distributed among higher plants although its commercial sources are sugarcane and sugarbeet. It consists of D-glucose and D-fructose. CH3COOH is the chemical formula of acetic acid.
