Q.
The boiling point of water is 100oC . What will be the boiling point of an aqueous solution containing 0.6g of urea (molar mass =60 ) in 100g of water?( Kb for water =0.52K/m )
We know that, ΔTb=MB×wAKb×wB×1000Kb=0.52Km−1,wB=0.6g,Mb=60wA=100g∴ΔTb=60×10000.52×0.6×1000=0.052oC Thus boiling point of the solution =100+0.052=100.052oC
