Tendons and ligaments are specialized type of fibrous connective tissues. Tendons are white fibrous connective tissue which connects skeletal muscles with bones whereas ligaments are yellow fibrous connective tissue which joins bones to bones. Muscular tissue is composed of skeletal muscles, smooth muscles and cardiac muscles. In humans muscle constitute about 40−50% of total body weight. Nervous tissue composed of highly specialized cells called neurons, Schwann cells, ependymal cells etc. Epithelial tissue composed by single or multiple layers of cells adhered to each other by desmosomes. It lines the outer protective and inner hollow organs.
