Solution:

In Japan, ‘Bakanae disease’ or ‘Foolish seedling disease’ in rice was known. It was found that there is some connection between bakanae disease and fungus Gibberella fujikuroi ( now called Fusarium moniliforme). The active substance present in fungus was separated and named gibberellin by Yabuta.
