Solution:

In plants growing in deserts, commonly known as succulent xerophytes, the stomata opens during the night and closes during day time, such stomata are known as scotoactive stomata. It is an adaptation to reduce transpiration during day time when the temperature is very high. Such plants show CAM metabolism as a method of photosynthesis.
