Solution:
The stem is a part of a plant consisting of branches, leaves, flowers and fruits. They also exhibit buds which can be axillary or terminal. They perform the function of conducting water, food and minerals and photosynthesis. In some plants, the stem is modified in different structures to perform various functions. In some plants like cucumber, pumpkins, watermelons and grapevines stem is modified into a thin and spirally coiled structure called tendrils which are developed from the axillary bud.
