Solution:
Endosperm provide nourishment to the developing embryo.
There are two types of seed- endospermic seed and non-endospermic seed.
Endospermous seeds are those seeds in which Endosperm persists in the mature seeds and endosperm continues to support the growth of embryo during seeds germination whereas in non-endospermic seed, the endosperm is totally consumed by the developing embryo therefore mature seed do not contain any endosperm. Example of endospermic seed:- Castor, sunflower, maize, coconut, wheat etc.
Non-endospermous seed are: - Peas, beans, grams, groundnut, mustard etc.
