Xylem parenchyma are part of the xylem tissue where this is the living part of the tissue complex. Xylem parenchyma helps in storage of food materials like starch and tannins. Sclereids are a type of sclerenchyma tissue which is made of dead lignified cells. They have narrow lumen and thick walls observed in fruits walls of nut. Phloem parenchyma is made of elongated, tapering cylindrical cells which help with storage of food and other things. These are found to be absent in most of the monocots. Vessels are another part of xylem which are made of dead lignified cells. They appear cylindrical long tube-like structure.
